Lavish Miami Home: One on One with Alfredo Leon
Known for creating amazing spaces, we caught up with Architect Alfredo Leon to get some insights on developing a luxurious home in Miami Beach and working with Addison House to complete this project.
Tell us a bit about this project. Â
A new modern Residence by the most prestigious area of Miami Beach. Our client decided to sell the house so we immediately asked Addison House to help her in staging all the most important rooms , and we did it spectacular! We also used our client’s exquisite private art collection to finally embellish it.
What look and style were you trying to achieve with this project?
We tried, as always, to go with the style and architecture of the house. Being a modern style we continued the interior to be modern, but not too minimalist; with our selection of furniture and décor we decided to go accordingly with the house, added some textures and colors on the walls and introduced some touches of wood pieces to break the serenity of the cool modern style.
What inspired you to utilize accentuated pieces and accessories within the living room?
As I told you before, we didn’t want to go with a minimalist cool ambience, so we added color and wooden pieces as a touch, the result: all furniture, art and dĂ©cor combined work perfectly in the main living room. Besides, this beautiful house architecture was the perfect “White modern canvas” for us to start the work.
How was the furniture selection process done in partnership with Addison House?
We consulted and selected every piece of furniture with the owner as well as the last detail of décor on each corner of the rooms we staged. Both owner and the Addison House team worked perfectly with me to reassure the total concept of the house and we made sure that style was just right. The process was smooth because we were all in the same page regarding style and quality. I then started in making a real floor plan of the areas with the dimensions of each piece of furniture we chose and when we were sure everything worked, we incorporated color and textures on the pieces. We then finalized by adding the décor and small pieces to perfect it.
You worked with brands such as Pianca, Tonelli, Gamma, Saccaro and Cattelan Italia. What inspired you to incorporate these brands into this project?
The quality on the finishing, the high quality of the design of these companies furniture pieces, the fabrics they have to choose from, the scale of the pieces. These brands reflects a high level of design that goes with the high standards that this house deserves.
How is this different from the previous projects you have done before?
As you know I have worked many times with the Addison House as a team in staging different ambiences for private owners, realtors and corporate developers. This House itself was a beautiful architectural design, its location and its own finishes were perfect to start. We really looked into every detail we put to make the most of it, combining Addison House brands and my expertise. I’m very happy with the final result.
How did you come up with selecting the color palette for the living room and dining room?
After we finalized choosing the main furniture pieces as sofas, armchairs, coffee and side tables, etc. We started with the owner selecting 3 accent pieces in a very electric blue. That was how we set BLUE our focal point in color through all the rooms. Also this intense electric blue color reflects and suits Miami, the ocean and its lifestyle.
Describe the feeling and emotion you wanted to elicit for each room.
Elegance, modern but not minimalist, calm but vivid rooms full of energy that describes better the Miami lifestyle!
What are your favorite pieces from this project?
Definitely the main sofas of the living room and the dinning set.
Describe this project in three words.
Spectacular but calm , Trendy and yet timeless…. and very MIAMI.
