The act of transforming a simple shape into comfortable seating by removing some of its aesthetic parts makes Bend a recognizable yet unobtrusive object. Its soft shapes connect the bold, square volumes of its vertical surfaces. But Bend also displays sartorial details: the corners are made of vertical fabric or leather strips sewn on with double hems.
